Cookie Policy

We explain which cookies and similar technologies we use, why, and how you can control them.
What is a cookie
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. They can be "first-party" (set directly by LifeSkills) or "third-party" (set by services we integrate, such as Google Analytics).
Beyond cookies we also use equivalent technologies such as browser localStorage to remember preferences (e.g. light/dark theme) and the state of some interactive tools.
Cookie categories we use
We classify cookies by function. The first two categories are strictly necessary and do not require consent; the other two require your explicit consent.
-
Strictly necessary / technical
Used for site functioning and session security (login, CSRF, consent banner). They cannot be disabled: without them parts of the site would not work. Legal basis: art. 6(1)(b) GDPR + art. 122 Italian Privacy Code.
-
Functional
Remember non-essential preferences (e.g. light/dark theme, chosen language). They may be stored in localStorage without sending data to our servers.
-
Analytics / measurement
Google Analytics 4 helps us understand aggregate usage. With Consent Mode v2 active: without your consent GA only sends "cookieless pings" and writes no identifying cookies; with consent the _ga and _ga_* cookies are set. IP is anonymized.
-
Marketing / profiling
We currently DO NOT use marketing or advertising profiling cookies. If we add them later, we will update this page and ask for specific consent through the banner.

Summary table of the main cookies. The full live list is available by opening the cookie panel through the banner.

_ga | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes users for aggregate analytics. Set ONLY with consent. | 2 years | Analytics |
_ga_<container> | Google Analytics 4 | Persists GA session state. Set ONLY with consent. | 2 years | Analytics |
theme (localStorage) | LifeSkills (first-party) | Stores light/dark theme preference. | Persistent until cleared | Functional |
How we handle consent
We use CookieYes as Consent Management Platform and Google Consent Mode v2. When you land on the site all non-essential consents default to "denied"; no analytics or marketing cookies are written before your explicit choice.
Change or withdraw consent
You can change your preferences at any time via the "Open cookie preferences" button above or the floating CookieYes icon on the site. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before withdrawal.
Blocking cookies from your browser
You can also block or delete cookies from your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may make some features (e.g. login) unavailable.
Third-party cookies
When you enable analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 may set cookies on your browser. Google acts as processor under its own terms. For more details see the Google privacy notice and the "Recipients" section of our Privacy Policy.
