Information guide for international students, not individual legal, tax or medical advice. Requirements and practices may change by nationality, territory and institution: always check the competent source before acting.

Operational framework

To study in Thailand, admission, entry, stay, address, work and tax remain distinct procedures. The ordinary route starts from Non-Immigrant ED or other expressly suitable category obtained through the channel indicated by the Thai representation; The following sections turn rules and risks into documentable controls.

Admission and visa

Rule:University admission is not an entry permit: program, institution and duration must support the Non-Immigrant ED category requested by the competent representation.

What to do:Get complete letter and use only Thai e-Visa, embassy or consulate indicated for your place of residence.

Operational verification:Link the rule to your nationality, course type and current version of the source; save page, date and receipt.

Authorized period

Rule:Visa validity and period of stay granted at the border are not the same thing; the admission stamp or record and any extension are valid.

What to do:Check the date as soon as you log in and report errors immediately.

Operational verification:Please verify your name, passport number, address, territorial authority and deadline before sending or paying.

Extension for study

Rule:Extensions require updated institution documents and Immigration Bureau evaluation; they are not automatic for the entire duration of the course.

What to do:Ask for the local checklist in advance and don’t rely only on the school’s promise.

Operational verification:Enter the fulfillment in the calendar with advance notice, documented cost and alternative plan in case of rejection or delay.

90 day notification

Rule:Anyone who stays for more than ninety days must periodically notify the address; it is not equivalent to an extension of stay.

What to do:Keep receipt TM.47 or confirm online and calculate the new deadline after each exit.

Operational verification:Review this when your course, campus, address, job, insurance, or length of stay changes.

TM.30 and address

Rule:The notification of the accommodation by the owner or structure is distinct from the ninety-day notification and can be requested in subsequent procedures.

What to do:Check that the hotel or landlord has correctly registered your passport and address.

Operational verification:Link the rule to your nationality, course type and current version of the source; save page, date and receipt.

Exits and returns

Rule:Leaving the country without the necessary re-entry permit may terminate the residence permit already granted.

What to do:Before leaving, check re-entry permit, passport validity and number of entries.

Operational verification:Please verify your name, passport number, address, territorial authority and deadline before sending or paying.

Change of course

Rule:Interruption, insufficient attendance or change of institution may affect the basis of the stay.

What to do:Obtain written confirmation from the old and new institutions and from immigration before the change.

Operational verification:Enter the fulfillment in the calendar with advance notice, documented cost and alternative plan in case of rejection or delay.

Overstay

Rule:Exceeding the authorized date exposes you to sanctions and migratory consequences; a late application does not automatically cure the position.

What to do:Contact Immigration Bureau or a qualified professional immediately and do not attempt informal solutions.

Operational verification:Review this when your course, campus, address, job, insurance, or length of stay changes.

How to manage a practice without losing control

Treat each application as an evidentiary file. Create an index with requirement, document, issuing authority, date, translation and page. Before sending, compare your passport, form, CV, offer/CoE and previous entries: names, dates and activities must tell the same story. If an answer does not fit the field, attach a numbered note that specifically addresses the question. Don’t upload dozens of files without explanation or rename a document in a deceptive way.

Keep an immutable copy of the submitted package and a separate working folder. Record receipt, application number, deadlines and messages. Communications often arrive in the portal before the email; check it regularly. A request for information should not be construed as a refusal, but the response must be complete, timely and to the point. If you can’t get a document, demonstrate attempts and ask for instructions - don’t invent substitutes.

When you really need a professional

A standard, documented case can be handled by reading the official instructions. Seek regulated advice when you have refusals or cancellations, unlawful status, criminal record, relevant medical conditions, complex family members, incorrect information already submitted, material change of route or imminent deadlines. Verify license and identity in the official register, sign a written engagement with scope, fees and document management and pay on a verified professional account.

Ask the advisor to distinguish law, policy, practice and your risk assessment. No one can guarantee concession or timing. Maintain access to the portal and receive a copy of every communication. If a strategy requires omitting a fact, creating a relationship or showing money that isn’t actually available, stop: the risk of false information can outweigh the problem you wanted to hide.

Final check before each shipment

Reread the question as a decision maker who doesn’t know you. Check validity of passport, quality of scans, translations, signature, payment and deadline time zone. Check that links and contacts are official, that the card allows the operation and that the receipt is saved. After submitting, do not change your life based solely on the expectation of approval: maintain existing status, registration, insurance and conditions until a new decision produces effects.
