How the destination selector works

What we ask and what stays private

We use no more than four preferences: indicative monthly budget, usable language, main goal, and region or climate. The calculation runs in your browser.

Answers are not sent to a server, stored in an account, or shared with third parties. Reloading the page starts over.

How results are calculated

Each destination receives a score through fixed, reproducible rules. The same answers always produce the same order. We show at most three results and readable reasons for each match.

• Budget: up to 35 points; an estimate just above the limit receives 18 points.
• Language: up to 25 points.
• Goal: up to 25 points.
• Region or climate: up to 15 points.
• A “no preference” choice gets a smaller neutral weight, so it cannot dominate the ranking.
• Every missing data field removes 12 points: incomplete profiles are not favored.
• Ties use the stable editorial order and then the slug, never randomness.

How to read cost bands

Figures are broad planning bands in euros, per month and for one person, derived from local estimates already published on the site. We avoid the false precision of an exact figure.

They are not live prices and do not automatically include tuition, visas, insurance, travel, or an initial deposit. City, lifestyle, and exchange rates can materially change the total.

What the selector does not promise

A high result does not guarantee admission, a visa, a job, or affordability. Treat it as a starting point: open the guide, verify the city, and check the official sources that apply to your profile.
