Operational framework

In Denmark citizenship, duration, type of course, address and work produce separate practices. SIRI, municipality, Skattestyrelsen, university and health region do not replace each other: every decision must be verified with the competent authority.

TEAM

Rule: An Italian student temporarily in Denmark uses the TEAM for public care medically necessary for local conditions. The EHIC does not cover private healthcare, travel for treatment or repatriation.

Rule: After registering as a resident, the municipality normally registers in the health system and sends the yellow health insurance card with doctor and personal data.

General practitioner

Rule: The insurance group and chosen doctor determine access and referrals. Changing doctors may have a fee, barring exceptions.

Non-EU students

Rule: Access depends on duration and CPR. A comprehensive permit and course compliant policy may be required prior to registration or for non-registerable stays.

Dentist and drugs

Rule: Adult dental care and many medications involve cost sharing; prescriptions and reimbursements follow Danish rules.

Mental health

Rule: University, general practitioner and regional services have different roles; urgency, referrals and times change per service.

Rule: Absence, exams, SU and leave may require different certifications; the doctor does not automatically decide the academic or migratory outcome.

Emergencies

Rule: 112 is for acute emergencies. For urgent non-vital problems, the regional medical service is used out of hours, which varies according to the region.

Documentary protocol

Create three files: stay and CPR; home and insurance; work, SU and taxes. Save the version of the page consulted, the submitted package, receipt and complete response. If you change course, job, address or coverage, review all related paperwork before the change.
